The tenor saxophone is in the middle of the saxophone family when comparison comes around to sizing. The size of the tenor saxophone comes after the alto sax but is a runner up to the baritone saxophne. The tenor saxophone is used in all sorts of band pieces and the tenor sax is also good with solos and duets. The tenor sax is played in mainly jazz bands and concert bands. Generally, it is about right to have anywhere between 3-5 tenor saxophones in concert band and maybe 1-2 in a jazz band.
